Con Son island - Bay Canh islet - Cau islet. After about 45 minutes cruising on board, tourists will reach Bay Canh islet. Here, tourists may visit the Marine Turtle Conservation Station and have a great understanding of this rare marine species conservation programs; conquer the mountain of 325m to visit the lighthouse built in 1884,which is still operative now with the radius range of 72 km, to guide ships and boats traffic, or visit the most beautiful mangrove forest among those in Con Dao, snorkling and watch coral, rest, relax at the quiet, pristine, long beach with white smooth sand. This long beach is the largest nesting beach for the Con Dao marine turtles. During their nesting season, April-November each year, tourists can stay overnight here to wait and watch their nesting and egg-laying activities, joining the task of releasing turtle hatchlings back to sea. Tourists will certainly enjoy their unforgettable experiences here. Heading to the East of Con Son island, 30 minutes away from Bay Canh islet, tourists will reach Cau islet. On the way, tourists can view the panoramic landscape of Con Son from afar. Nowadays, Cau islet is one of the most significant sites for the rare wildlife conservation. Coming to Cau islet, tourists can learn about different eco-systems and enjoy beautiful pristine landscape with pure, fresh air. They can do snorkeling, diving to find out the diversity of the coral reefs, take a walk to visit the fruit trees and tropical rain forests to see the wild fauna such as varans, chameleons/geckos, flying foxes/bats and rare bird species, endemic plants of Con Dao, watching the rangers collecting swallows nests, learning bout marine turtles conservation. At night, tourists may lay down and wind up or watch the turtle crawling to the beach to lay eggs. |
